A Push for Legal Aid in Civil Cases Finds Its Advocates

The New York Times picks up on national trends in legal aid, citing Massachusetts study that “two-thirds of low-income residents who seek legal help are turned away.”

An experiment in California is providing legal help to low-income renters who otherwise would have faced their landlords, and the landlords’ lawyers, alone in court. Read more.
