The case manager will be based in CWJC’s Worcester office and will help connect clients with services and programs in order to maintain and increase their stability and security. The case manager will help clients apply and/or recertify for relevant assistance programs; gather the documents necessary and keep the appointments required for their cases; and identify appropriate non-legal community resources that can help address clients’ unmet needs. ]]>The Grants Manager will be a member of CLA’s management team and report to the Development Director. The manager will take the lead and work with staff to prepare grant proposals and funding applications for government, corporate, and foundation funds; research potential new sources of funding that match the goals and objectives of the organization; write and edit grant reports and ensure programmatic compliance with all grants; maintain a grants management system with invoice and reporting deadlines; and prepare internal reports and facilitate regular management meetings to review current, pending, and declined grants.
CLA has offices in Northampton, Pittsfield, Springfield, Fitchburg, and Worcester. The Grants Manager will be based in one of CLA’s offices and will be required to spend at least one day per week in CLA’s headquarters in Worcester.

]]>CLA and CWJC are the non-profit civil legal aid programs serving the low-income and elderly residents of central and western Massachusetts. CLA and CWJC have a combined staff of over 150 talented, dedicated people working out of five offices. Through our effective advocacy in more than 8,000 cases each year, some of the most vulnerable residents of our region obtain safe and stable housing; get needed services in school; access unemployment, disability and other benefits to stabilize their income; break free from abuse and exploitation; and obtain humanitarian-based immigration relief. The vast majority of our clients have household incomes that fall below 125% of the federal poverty level (in 2022, $2,891 monthly for a family of four). In addition to direct legal representation, we provide community legal education to service providers, community groups, and private attorneys and operate the region’s largest pro bono program for private attorney volunteers.
