Grants Manager (Northampton, Pittsfield, Springfield, Fitchburg or Worcester)
Community Legal Aid, Inc. (CLA), the non-profit organization providing free civil legal services to low-income and elderly residents of Central and Western Massachusetts, seeks a Grants Manager who will manage existing grants and seek new sources of funding. CLA administers over 80 grants with federal, state, local, corporate, and foundation funding sources, and regularly submits proposals for new funding
The Grants Manager will be a member of CLA’s management team and report to the Development Director. The manager will take the lead and work with staff to prepare grant proposals and funding applications for government, corporate, and foundation funds; research potential new sources of funding that match the goals and objectives of the organization; write and edit grant reports and ensure programmatic compliance with all grants; maintain a grants management system with invoice and reporting deadlines; and prepare internal reports and facilitate regular management meetings to review current, pending, and declined grants.
CLA has offices in Northampton, Pittsfield, Springfield, Fitchburg, and Worcester. The Grants Manager will be based in one of CLA’s offices and will be required to spend at least one day per week in CLA’s headquarters in Worcester.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Previous experience in non-profit grant writing as well as supervision, administration, and/or management of grant processes strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Salesforce strongly preferred.
- Excellent written communication skills; ability to write clear, structured, articulate, and persuasive proposals.
- Effective organizational, planning, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment, handle multiple assignments, and meet deadlines.
COMPENSATION: The salary range is between $65,000 to $90,000 and is adjusted upward depending on experience. CLA offers a very generous benefits package that includes 401(k) with employer-paid contribution; low-cost health insurance (medical, dental, and vision) for employees and their dependents; paid leave (4 weeks vacation, 3 personal days, 12 sick days, and 13 holidays); and relocation stipend.
