Laura Hancock Barry

Development Manager

Laura joined Community Legal Aid in 2018 as the Development Manager. She brings both legal experience and development expertise to the position. An attorney herself, Laura earned her law degree from Suffolk and practiced law in Worcester, MA for years. She is also the founder and leader of the Hopkinton Public Library Foundation (HPLF), a nonprofit organization that succeeded in its mission of raising $1 million for the renovation and expansion of the historic Hopkinton Library. For this initiative she was involved in all aspects of fundraising, including developing strategy and messaging, organizing and running events and programs, managing volunteers, contacting prospective donors, writing grants, and overseeing finances. Serving as primary spokesperson for HPLF, Laura authored numerous appeal letters, press releases and ed/op pieces.
